HEY, I'M COURTNEY!
From a young age, I have worked in my family businesses and see bookkeeping through the lens of the small business owner's eyes. I started using QuickBooks Desktop at 16 years old and started using QuickBooks Online in my early 20's a few years after it was created for my husband's contracting business.
Everyone has dealt with imposter syndrome but I have found that bookkeepers have this at a higher level due to the detail and compliance we must maintain. It's also super scary to ask questions in online forums in today's day and age without feeling stupid or getting 10 completely different answers to the same question (with a hint of condescension in the answer).
I didn't go to business school or have an education in finances. I am where I am by working with amazing CPA's, CFO's, and bookkeepers who took the time to show me how to do things better. Because of this, I abide by a "Shame Free Zone" mentality.
